Modern Recipe
[edit]
Ingredients
- 500 grams Dates (used as substitution for figs and raisins as what was had in house).
- Verdehlo (sweet but dry white) wine.
- Good Powder
- 1 - 2 TBS Rice Flour.
[edit]
Method
- Cover the fruit with the wine and cook until soft.
- Mash (I used the bar mix) into a fine paste.
- Add the spices. Cook until thickens. If not quite thick enough, add the rice flour and a pinch of salt if necessary. Didn't add colouring (saunders = sandalwood).
Nice on toast or as an accompanyment to meats.
Gwir verch Madog.
