Laccio d’Amore is a dance for one Lord and one Lady, notable for its frequent use of the cadenza throughout the dance. Il Ballarino includes an arrangement of the music for lute. Caroso dedicated this dance to Signora Givlia Colloreta di Valvasone.

Caroso describes Laccio d’Amore as an “encounter”, which could be taken to mean that it should be interpreted as two people meeting for the first time. The couple has only a little time to spend together, so their interaction is light, fun, and frivolous, but also reserved in a way; there is relatively little contact between the dancers compared to a dance like Contrapasso.
