Canton (Heraldry)
An ordinary. See right for an example of Argent, a canton sable. A canton, both in the SCA and mundanely, is often added to the device as an augmentation of arms.

Canton (Groups)
In the SCA a canton is a group with at least five members, which is also part of a Barony.
